Brief History of Women in the Transport Sector

The labor market has traditionally been gender segregated. Women were excluded from many university educations until the first half of the 20th century. Even though individual women pioneers got degrees from universities’ and were able to pursue a career in the engineering industry it was not until the first half of the 20th century that women, at least in Europe, gained access to engineering schools.
